A REALITY television star known for hitting high notes met Australia Zoo’s loudest residents yesterday.

Channel Seven’s Popstarts Live finalist Kiki Courtidis was not the only one to stand out in yesterday’s Zoo crowd as three exotic South American birds flapped their rich and bright coloured feathers.

Just like Kiki, these gorgeous creatures demand the attention on those around them when they let out a tune.

Two green-winged and scarlet macaws and one blue and gold macaw left a lasting impression on Kiki’s shoulders as they interacted.

But her animal adventure ended promptly when a wild wedge-tailed eagle began circling above.

Kiki is on the Sunshine Coast for a Christian Ministry youth conference and has been touring Caloundra schools.

Her performances include songs she has written for her debut album which is due for release in 2005.

She said her new album which will include her original Paper sung on Popstars, was a mix of contemporary pop and R&B.

Kiki has just returned from a trip to Los Angeles with Tania Doko from Bachelor Girl, were she made lots of music industry contacts. “I spent three weeks in Beverley Hills where everyone knows everyone. It really opened up a couple of doors.” “We performed at the House of Blues. D12 was there.”
