Halloween at Australia Zoo

At Halloween there was a troll and a vampire too. I was a little bit scared. But there was a security guard, I hid behind him. I thought the security guard would help me.

I was right. He helped me. It was so good to be free. I had so much fun.

I went to Disney on Ice. I saw all the Disney princesses and Mickey and Minnie. My favourite princess is Ariel. I met Cinderella and Prince Charming and Mickey and Minnie. I had a good day.

Me, Miss Emma, Dad, Mum and Bob went to Lady Elliot Island. Dad and I went snorkeling together. We saw fish and a turtle. Dad and I almost touched the turtle.

In August we went to put satellite transmitters on crocs in the bush. A satellite transmitter is a device that helps us know more about croc behaviour. We were going to catch a big croc and we found a croc nest and the babies had hatched. They were OK.

I went on a trip on the Ghan. The Ghan is a train that goes from Adelaide to Darwin and back again. That was fun. After the Ghan Dad and I went back from Adelaide to Darwin. We filmed all the pretty things along the way.

My Trip
My most favourite thing I did was... Being with dad.
Why? Because I love him very very much.

The most interesting place I visited was... The house underground. It was at Coober Pedy.

My least favourite thing was... When there was kangaroos dead on the road. I was very very sad!

Animals I saw on my trip... Parrot (his name is 'Lucky'), kangaroo, and a lizard.

I went on Croc One for seven days. It was lots of fun. I went to feed the fish at Stone's Crossing. I snorkeled with dad. We had fun!

It was a good trip.

I went to America on November 2005. Mum, Dad and Bob and I went to see the National Parks and to film them. We collected the badges of the things we saw. My favourite thing was riding with my family in a motor home, travelling from point A to point B.

On December 2005 I went to Tasmania, it was so much fun. I went with Mum and Bob and Boni and Judy, my Dad's Dad's wife and daughter. We saw lots of animals and we ate lots and lots of food.

This year I am in grade 3 at school. I have just learnt how to do the alphabet in cursive writing. My teacher Miss Emma says I am very good at it. These are some of my favourite letters:

In March my Aunty Bonnie and Uncle John came to visit me at the Zoo. They came all the way from America. It took them three planes to get here. I love it when they are here because we can go shopping and have lunch together. The best thing so far is when I had a sleepover with Bonnie and John. I got to stay up and watch my favourite TV show the "Winx Club". I love them and I will miss them when they go.

I went to Disneyland just after Easter. Mum, Bob and I flew there. I went on this really cool ride. It was a boat ride that went on rapids and down waterfalls. I met Jasmine and Aladdin and Bob met Buzz Lightyear. One of my favourite things was playing in the water fun park in the Bug's Life place. When I was in the water it was warm but when I was out it was cold! I was a shopaholic. My favourite thing was a teddy, but I did not spend all my pocket money.

I had a great time!

I found an emu egg

When I went to St. George we walked every day. On one of our walks I found an emu egg. It was just lying on the ground. Emu eggs should not be just lying on the ground, they should be in a nest or in a pile of leaves. To keep it warm (because it was very cold) I had to put it in my t-shirt all the way home. I kept it in a room and I had to keep the room temperature between 12°C and 15°C. Miss Emma took my emu egg back to the Zoo. We had to put it in an incubator.

I cannot wait!

MS Readathon

I love reading, so when Miss Emma asked if I wanted to do the MS Readathon I jumped at the chance. If you do not know what MS stands for, it means Multiple Sclerosis. I read 25 books and raised $658, to help people living with MS. It was so so so much fun! To my surprise I got some rewards. My favourite thing was the digital camera. I cannot wait to help out next year!

Congratulations to Bindi on her outstanding fundraising efforts for the MS Readathon. Bindi worked extremely hard to read 25 books and raise $658, which will go to helping people living with Multiple Sclerosis.

I love my birthday not just because of the cake and presents, but because I get to spend time with my family! I love them very much! When I get up and it is my birthday I say "Eek, it's my birthday!"

Okay, okay, I do love the cake, but hey – any girl would. I had some very good friends of mine come over to spend the day with me. I had so much fun!

I just got a pet rat named Candy. I love him very very very very very much! I got him 2 weeks after my Dad died. He helps me feel lots better! I know that Candy sounds like a girls name but I just found out he was a boy. I had taught him tricks with the name Candy because I thought he was a girl, and now I can't change his name because he will not respond to any other name other than Candy!!!

I love doing every thing with Candy, he is my very best friend!!! He has a big cage about 1 metre long and nearly 1 metre wide. He has lots and lots and lots of toys. He loves them all! Well that's my little pet rat Candy!

On the 1 of December my brother was 3 years old! In art I made him a pi?ta and he loved it!! He got lots and lots of other things too, like T-rexs and other Dinosaurs (he loves them!!!)

I had the best day on my birthday (or b-day for short)! I was sooo happy The Veronicas could come, and it made my day that they let me have a guitar, it was sooo nice of them!
And talking about gifts I got soo many!!! Everybody was so very nice! Also my best friends came too! Rosie my best friend came and the Underwood family also came. It was a long way for the Underwoods to come because they live in Surat which is like a 7 hour drive to the zoo!
But back to Rosie well I've known her since preschool (I went to Sunshine Coast Grammar).
It was very nice that lots and lots of people came to the zoo for my B-day!

When I went to Disneyland I wanted to win a dolphin at like the games place. But I just could not seem to win that dolphin. Then another boy won it and gave it to me. How nice is that. He was such a nice boy!

Well that was my best trip ever at Disneyland. I hoped you liked it. Oh and the little boy who gave me the dolphin, if you're reading this thank you, thank you, thank you very very much.

In August I went to North Queensland to do Croc Research. We wanted to find out how deep crocs dive, their body temp and the movements of the crocs in the river. I also found a friend while I was up there! I found a praying mantis that I named Izzabella or Izzie for short! We played together for about 3 days but then I let her go.

And I got another pet or should I say pet rock! I named her Pretzel! We read stories together and played together and had so much fun together!! I also did bush school while I was up there with Miss Emma and Craig. I had fun with Craig because he taught me about stuff like Green House Gases, Fossil Fuels, The Ozone Layer and other great things!

I met a little girl as well named Aima, she was 8 years old and also did Home School! She was very very nice. Wow I had the best trip! Oh Craig is a Professor who helps us! I hoped you liked my story!

In August I launched Bindi Wear International. I did it in Las Vagas. There was a Fashion Parade and I had so much fun! I Also had my own booth where people could look at my Bindi Wear International collection. I helped design the clothes by giving my thoughts on how they looked to me. And I put the messages on them.

In September I was filming in the U.S. it was fun! My favourite place that I went to was the Aeroplane Junkyard. I liked it because it had bits of old Aeroplanes as far as you could see. I found all sorts of things. Like old seats from the planes, old oxygen masks, wheels off the plane, wings, the front of the plane, and well I could go on forever but I don't have that much paper!! I even got an old spanner used to work on the plane!

It was a great day. I hope you liked my story.

I had so so so much fun at the Nick Awards! It was so great.

First I won Biggest Greenie, then I won Fave Aussie WOW!

But I did dedicate the Fave Aussie to the most ripper person, my hero, my Dad!! Oh and the award had a Kaleidoscope in it, neat!

In November I did the Macy's Day Parade. It was for Thanks giving.

Oh, and we did it in New York. My mum and the Crocmen were there aswell. It was great being on an animal float (The animals were not real!) But I had sooo much fun going down the street waving to all the people!!! There was lots of other floats not just ours.

There was also a marching band so we had fun dancing to the music!

I hope I can do it again next year! The Macy's Day Parade was a Blast!

On December 1st Robert had his 4th B-day. Lots and lots of people came!! He got heaps of gifts aswell. But he loved Mums gifts best! He got chickens which he has always wanted! All of Roberts friends came and Rosie and her family came. Oh he had fun with his cake too, eating it!!!

In December I went to Bali with Miss Emma, Mum, Wes, John Stainton, our security Mick and Robert. It was very hot in Bali and I went swimming lots to stay cool.

For filming we went to the Hindu temple called Ulawatu. We went there to film the Macaque Monkeys.

I had lots of fun in art because I got to do cave art! It was great. I painted a horse and my handprints. Next time I'll do a croc! Oh, and I gave them to my mum! She loved them!!

Steps to make your own cave art:

1- paint the background a brownish colour.

2- paint around your handprints with a darker colour brown.

3- flick the darker colour with a paint brush.

4- if you want you can put finger prints at the the top and\or bottom.

Tips: make sure all your colours are earthy like dark purples, browns and even orange or dark yellow. If you want you can scrumple it all up to make a rocky affect.

I had a chance to meet Brooke a girl who interviewed me. It was such an honour to meet Brooke. She was the nicest and sweetest young lady. I think her questions were great! I hope to see her again soon!

Sunday 4th May

Mum, John, Mark and Myself went to the Logies. First we got on a plane to Melbourne, then we got a car to go to our hotel.

As soon as we got to our room we had to get ready. Myself and Mum got our dresses on, then we went into hair and Makeup. John and Mark got changed into there tuxes. When we were ready we got in the car again!

We drove to the place where the logies were held. Mum and I had to walk down the Red Carpet to get to the awards ceremony. While we were walking down the carpet we did lots of interviews. We got to the photo part, there were light bulbs flashing everywhere, (It was blinding.) I'm so glad that ended! Finally we got to the real awards.

All the categories came up, but then mine did! They said all these top actresses names then my name!

The guy said "And the winner is..."

My heart stopped

"Bindi Irwin!"

I could not believe it, I WON! I was amazed, in tears, I could hardly talk! I still said my speech, did my interviews and then went back to the room to celebrate! We went home the next day.

I'll never forget that great trip!

Wednesday 23rd July

Hi,

On the 23rd of July I went to sports day at my school. I had a heap of fun!

I did long jump and came 3rd, a 400m race and came 2nd, sprinting and came 3rd (I won a ribbon for that), I came 1st in a 100m relay and in a 400m relay I came 1st! Well sorry, I forgot to tell you, OK so there were 2 teams they were Red and Blue. I was on the Blue team and so was Robert.

There were also lots of other kids. I think there were about 70 kids all up but i'm just guessing.

Well we were there till' 2:30pm so then they told us who won. In the end Blue won! Wooo-hoo!

We were really happy! Well anyway that was our day.

In August we went croc catching! But this time we went to the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve! I was very excited because it was my first time! The S.I.W.R is north-east of Weipa, right up the top of Australia. As soon as I got out of the car at our campsite I was in awe! We had the Wenlock River right next to us, but we were on a big hill so we were safe. My school room view was captivating! So I didn't mind doing school as much, haha :)

At night you could hear frogs croaking, fish slapping, bats flying and sometimes you could even hear the bats being grabbed by crocs! Every night there was a party, and we were right in the middle of it. But little did I know I was going to be even more astonished, and I was! When we all walked to the springs (Mum, me, Shelley, Barry and Miss Emma) it was like walking into a fairy land. But instead of fairies there were butterflies and dragonflies and birds!

Also instead of gum trees there were orchids and pitcher plants! Oh, and best of all the Perched springs! The springs are the most clear and perfect water you have ever seen! I could have spent all day there. The sad thing is though, a small mining company is trying to mine it. They want to get the Bauxite out of the springs. The problem is though, the springs are made up of Bauxite and if you take it out there will be no water left. See the springs are like a sponge, they soak up all the water in the wet season and in the dry season, when there's no water left, it feeds it out again. If there's no water left nothing can survive, so that means everything will die, the plants, animals and most of all the springs.

On the 6th of September I threw a birthday party for my best friend Rosie!! I also went to Alaska!! Well, let me tell you a little bit more. In Alaska we were tagging whales for research. We tagged the whales with a man named Bruce Mate. The device we used to tag them sort of looked like a gun, but don't worry, it wasn't. With pressure of air it puched the tag into the whale so that only the antenna stuck up. The antenna had to stick up so that we could get the information back. We get information everytime the whale takes a breath. The information is about:
-How long the whale is under water
-The depth it dives
-The distance it swims

Let me also tell you some interesting facts about whales, I thought they were great. Here we go:
-Did you know, with whales only 1% of births are twins?
-A baby whale can drink 100 pounds of milk a day!
-Did you also know whales can live 45-50 years?

We need to help protect our whales because they're being killed for "research"

Last night myself and Robert made pizzas!! Robert made a cheese pizza and I made a chicken, cheese, capsicum and olive pizza. On the base of the pizza I put a secret sauce on, made from tomato paste, chilli sauce and a secret ingredient! Our pizzas were very yummy and fun to make!! We also made another pizza out of collage for you to see. Here it is!!

On the 1st of December Robert had his birthday. He had a ball with Dinosaurs, Bannas in Pyjamas, Postman Pat, Spot the dog and much, much more!! He loved all his gifts and all he wants to do is play with them! I really cannot believe that he is 5 years old now. It seems only a second ago that he was a baby. Even Robert can't believe that he's 5 now!! When he woke up on his Birthday morning he kept saying "I'm 5 now! Yaaay!!" I also gave Robert his Birthday gifts that morning because he couldn't wait to see them. I got him some stickers, a blue ribbon reading "Birthday Boy," some pens (he loves pens) and what he really wanted a money box!! I really hope he liked my gifts. Robert also had some of his friends over named DJ and Petra! They're my good friends aswell!!

Robert had the best best birthday ever!!
